Overview

As a gift for my mother, I engineered a unique device that combines fans with a 10,000-lumen stroboscope (that I designed myself), all controlled by an ATtiny85 microcontroller and an N-Channel MOSFET. The high-intensity stroboscope emits rapid flashes of light, while the fans circulate small particles in the air. By precisely timing the strobe flashes with the movement of these particles, the device creates an optical illusion that simulates quantum phenomena. Specifically, the way particles appear to “teleport” due to quantum tunneling and exhibit random motion akin to Brownian motion. This project not only provided a visually stunning experience (different when captured on camera) but also served as an engaging way to illustrate complex quantum mechanics concepts in a tangible form.
